The start of 2009 saw a new milestone in the success of the vel'oh! cycle loan scheme, with the number of users passing the 100,000 mark. In order to celebrate this remarkable success and to thank cyclists for their loyalty, Mr Bausch, deputy mayor in charge of mobility in Luxembourg City, presented an iPod Touch to Denis Meys, the subscriber who recorded the 100,000th use.

The City of Luxembourg has taken advantage of the three months following the launch of vel’oh! to analyse, in detail, users' expectations as well as the weaknesses of the infrastructure.
Hence, the City will install additional terminals in the most frequently used Upper City's stations, particularly the stations "Theater Plaz", "Robert Schuman", "Amélie" and "Gëlle Fra".
Due to the Finnish Christmas market, the number of available parking posts has temporarily been reduced until 15th December 2008.

The success of vel’oh! doesn’t end there. The number of long-term subscribers has exceeded 600 and more than 300 people have taken a short-term subscription in this same period.
Find out moreAs part of putting the bicycle concept in place, the City of Luxembourg has recently opened to cyclists the new bus lane on Route d’Esch, going from Rue de Gasperich to Hollerich as well as the new counter-flow bus lanes respectively in Avenue Monterey between Bd Joseph II and Bd Gr.-D. Charlotte and in Bd Gr.-D.

Luxembourg's self-service bicycles will be making their debut on the first day of spring.
Am Dienstag, den 11. Mai 2010 eröffneten François Bausch, erster Schöffe der Stadt Luxemburg und verantwortlich für Mobilität, und Eric Martin, Country Head BNP Paribas und Vorstandsvorsitzender von BGL BNP Paribas, offiziell die neue vel’oh! Station „BGL BNP Paribas Kirchberg“. Ebenfalls anwesend war Thierry Schuman, Vorstandsmitglied von BGL BNP Paribas und Head of Country Human Resources. Vorausgegangen war am 16. Dezember 2009 die Unterzeichnung einer Vereinbarung zwischen der Stadt Luxemburg und BGL BNP Paribas, in der sich die Bank bereit erklärt hatte, die Einrichtung dieser neuen Mietfahrradstation in vollem Umfang zu übernehmen.
Find out moreOn Tuesday, 11 May 2010, François Bausch, the City of Luxembourg’s First Deputy Mayor in charge of mobility and Eric Martin, Country Head BNP Paribas and Chairman of the Management Board, BGL BNP Paribas, inaugurated the new vel’oh! self-service rent-a-bike station at the bank’s Kirchberg site in the presence of Thierry Schuman, member of the Management Board of BGL BNP Paribas and Head of Country Human Resources. The ceremony followed the signature last December 16 of an agreement between the City of Luxembourg and BGL BNP Paribas under which the bank agreed to pay the full cost of installing the station.

Find out moreSince vel’oh! was launched in 2008, it has proved its worth with about 4.550 long-term subscribers to this date against 3.900 subscribers a year ago. So far, the bikes have been hired on more than 360.000 occasions. Another impressive figure is that with currently 54 stations, the system has doubled the number of its stations since the launch.
